Tristan
Pointgold Mixed Reaction UD

30 May 1993-- 7 January 2001

Tristan came to us in August 1993 from Kim and Steve Burke of Pointgold Golden Retrievers.  His pedigree had similar lines to our first male Golden, Jason.  His working pedigree was impressive--his mother, Holly, was a Dual Champion in Retrieving and he showed an aptitude for retrieving even as a young puppy.  He loved to carry things.  He wasn't happy if he couldn't be holding something in his mouth.

Tristan showed potential in the show ring winning challenges and reserve challenges, but he really disliked showing and we decided to concentrate on obedience.

Tristan gained his Companion Dog (CD) in 1996 and his Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) in 1997.  After a lot of hard work and training by Clive, Tristan gained the three qualifying scores he needed for his Utility Dog Title in 2000.  The Utility class is the most difficult class in which to obtain a qualifying score.  The exercises are difficult and the standard of work required is very high.

Along the way, Tristan was successful in many trials, gaining several First In Ring trophies and sashes for his efforts.
