Congratulations to Bella, who has qualified for the impressive title of Dual Champion! Bella qualified for her Tracking Champion title in 2005 and her conformation Champion title in 2009. Congratulations to her owners, Kim and Denis Houlden.
Along the way, Bella was the third Fernamber Golden to be awarded the prestigious Tracking Dog of the Year award. This award is given each year by the Tracking Club of Vic to the highest scoring tracking dog of that year.
Bella breezed through the 2005 tracking season, qualifying for her Tracking Dog title in May with two 'Very Good' passes. At the Golden Retriever Club tracking trial she was jointly awarded the Pointgold Pure Pleasure trophy for the highest graded dog of the trial. She was jointly awarded this trophy with her mother, Teagan, Fernamber Silhouette CDX.
In June and July 2005, Bella qualified for her Test 3, Test 4 and Test 5, all with 'Excellent' gradings. This earned her the Tracking Dog Excellent title. Later in July 2005, Bella earned her Test 6 pass which qualified her for her tracking Champion title. In this test Bella was awarded 'Very Good' under difficult conditions. The ground was very dry with very little cover to hold scent and the trial was held in Mildura in very different terrain. Still Bella, tracked with success. Bella's excellent record earned her the award 'Tracking Dog of the Year 2005'.
Bella and Kim then turned their talents to obedience and earned their Companion Dog title in 2007 and Companion Dog Excellent title in 2008. Bella was awarded Obedience Dog of the Year for 2007 by the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria.
In 2008 and 2009 Bella competed in the conformation ring and earned the title of Champion in October 2009. This made Bella a Dual Champion--a very special achievement!
